CHASING THE CUP AT SEYMOUR

Two runners on Seymour Cup day for Ballymore Stables including a chance in the feature race on Sunday.

Radipole (pictured) has drawn barrier nine in the 13-strong $150,000 Seymour Cup (1600m) field and Mike Moroney is not unhappy about the draw.

“The track is soft and there is some rain predicted so the barrier draw is actually to our advantage,” Moroney said.

“There does look plenty of speed in the race so he should be able to get in and take a position.

“I think that with the ease in the track and a fast run race he does have a chance.

“He’s been working well and happy with the way he’s going so I think he can be competitive.”

San Vincenzo goes earlier in the day in the fourth race, the Benchmark64 Handicap over 1600m.

“His race does look to have a lot of speed in it and he’s raced at his best when on the speed so we might need at adjust things if they go crazy,” Moroney said.

“Although it’s only a small field we might be better to take a sit if there is a lot of speed on.

“He’s a lot fitter now and his work has been satisfactory.

“I’m expecting him to run well provided he doesn’t get a tough run on pace.”
