BIANCO NUOVO TO DEBUT ON SUNDAY

Bianco Nuovo is set to debut in a hot field at Seymour on Sunday.

The son of Artie Schiller contests the third race, the 3YO Maiden Plate over 1300m where he will jump from barrier two with Patrick Moloney in the saddle.

Mike Moroney said the experience of race day will be a big part of the learning curve for Bianco Nuovo.

“He’s been well educated and is coming along nicely,” Moroney said. “He’s a tall, leggy sort of horse and is going to be a better sort in the autumn.

“I’m really wanting to let him have a run this preparation and then turn him out on the spring grass to allow him to build up before the autumn when I think we will see a nice horse.”

Moroney said despite his inexperience Bianco Nuovo has shown promise on the track.

“He’s got a big frame and does have gate speed so I’d envisage him putting himself there on what he’s shown us in his jumpouts,” Moroney said.

“It will be more a case of the race being on the sharp side for him when the tempo kicks in but I’m expecting he will learn a lot from the barrier.

“It’s a super VOBIS race and looks a strong field so it will be a good part of his education.”
