BOOKEND AT GEELONG ON SUNDAY

Tara Iti and Tribal Wisdom bookend the meeting at Geelong on Sunday.

Tara Iti (pictured) runs in the first race, the Open Maiden over 2447m on a track rated heavy(8) and Mike Moroney is anticipating a better performance now the son of Shocking is out in trip.

The four-year-old has also finally drawn a suitable barrier which gives him his chance.

“The good draw means we can position more forward and it should give him every chance,” Moroney said.

“It doesn’t look the strongest race and with normal luck in running we’re expecting him to run well.

“He can handle wet ground, he’s very fit and this does look his chance.”

Tribal Wisdom runs in the last race, the Benchmark 78 Handicap over 1430m where he has, unfortunately, drawn wide.

“There are some scratchings which will help a little but it’s not ideal,” Moroney said.

“It will be up to Patrick to see if we press forward or maybe take a sit, depending on the race is run early.

“That said he seems to be relaxing better in his work and his gallop on Tuesday was solid.”

While the barrier is not ideal, the soft surface is in favour of the son of Makfi.

“The ground will suit him and I think this race is a chance for him to get back to winning.” Moroney said.
