It’s Super Saturday at Flemington and the Ballymore team will present a quality line up of gallopers including the high class Tivaci (pictured) who will look to enhance his stallion prospects when he lines up in the Group 1 Lexus Newmarket Handicap over 1200m.

To be ridden by stable rider Patrick Moloney, Tivaci is out to cement his stallion credentials before heading back to New Zealand to stand at the prominent breeding powerhouse Waikato Stud.

“He’s in super order and we couldn’t be happier with him leading into tomorrow,” trainer Mike Moroney said. "The 53kg on his back will be a big help against the best sprinters in Australia. With the right run in transit he is up to giving this field a good shake.”

Tivaci is the fastest son of champion sire High Chaparral in the world and will jump from barrier six in the Flemington feature.

Gun three-year-old Barthelona looked to be back on track at his last outing when running third at Moonee Valley and is in good shape ahead of his Listed event over 1100m.

Moroney reports “His run last start had plenty of merit and it’s good to get him back into stakes class.” “It’s a strong field, but he is a very talented galloper and on his day he is up there with the best of them.”

Last start winner Sognani steps up in class as she looks to tackle another solid line up of three-year-old fillies in the TAB Kweney Stakes over 1400m.

Moroney was the first to admit it is a ‘step up in class’ for the daughter of Magic Albert, although does deserve her chance and is much better than her 100-1 odds suggest.

Alaskan Rose is the final runner in the Group 3 mares 1600m event. After receiving no luck in her last outing, when blocked for room in the latter stages of the race, Moroney is adamant she is ready to put her best foot forward. “She was given no hope last time out,” Moroney said. “The step up to 1600m will suit and the long roomy Flemington track will play heavily in her favour – she just needs some luck from barrier 13.”
