Loyalty Man on Target for Wodonga Cup

The lightly tried Loyalty Man (Fastnet Rock x Imperial Beauty) will be out to record his fifth career victory when he lines up in the Telstra Buisness Centre Wodonga Cup over 1590m today in the hands of Patrick Moloney.

After receiving no luck at his previous outing, when held up for room at Flemington, Loyalty Man will be out to make his own luck from barrier three and appears a genuine chance on his work and recent form.

“He just never got a fair crack at them last start,” trainer Mike Moroney said.

“He’s trained on well and from the draw we think he can be competitive – it looks a good race for him.”

Last start winner Cape Londonderry (Pentire x Modern Lady) finally steps up to a trip the team feel he will be most competitive and again the son of Pentire looks well placed to make his presence felt.

“He’s going to relish the step up in distance and with a good run in transit there is no reason he can’t make it back to back wins.”

Cape Londonderry lines up in the Rating 64 Handicap event over 2050m and will also be ridden by Patrick Maloney.

Over to Cranbourne and the talented Wichita Woman (High Chaparral x Zahani) will be looking to find her form when she lines up in the Class 1 event over 1600m.

“She’s drawn well and dropping in class slightly,” Moroney said.

“We’re hoping she can put her best foot forward and return to form as she has shown us some good ability.”

Two-year-old colt Blackwolf Run (All Too Hard x Black Minx) will be making his debut appearance at Moonee Valley on Saturday in the Whiteman Property Plate over 1000m and has drawn ideally in barrier 2.

“He’s had a couple of jump outs to prepare and we’ve liked what we’ve seen from him.”

“The draw puts him right there, but it is a quick race. Either way, he will take plenty of improvement for the outing.”

Last start winner Vandancer (Savabeel x Vanessatheundressa) made a great impression when winning first up at Geelong, while her second-up record suggests she can make it back to back wins.

To be ridden by Michael Walker, Vandancer has drawn a touch wide and does step up in class for the Ranvet Rating 84 event over 1600m.

“There’s no doubting her quality and she deserves to be running against Saturday class fields,” Moroney said.

“She has a good second up record, and an even better one for the mile, so we’re hopeful she can put up a competitive performance.”
