Daniela Rosa on target for Adelaide features

Quality filly Daniela Rosa (pictured) will be one of three runners for Ballymore on Saturday when she has her first taste of stakes level company when she lines up in the Listed UBET Penny Edition Stakes over 1400m at Morphettville.

Having won four races from only eight career starts, the lightly tried filly by Dane Shadow has illustrate dwell above average ability and the opportunity to secure black-type looks promising a trainer Michael Moroney continues to be pleased with the filly’s progress.

“She travelled up to Adelaide well, and has freshened up nicely – we just need one scratching to make the field. If she can gain a start I think she can be competitive despite the tricky draw,” trainer Mike Moroney said.

Heading to Moonee Valley and Araldo Junior will again lock horns with former stablemate Black Tomahawk in the Rangedale Plate over 2500m and his form of late suggests he is at good odds to do the business in the hands of capable apprentice rider Jake Bayliss.

“He’s had his fair share of set-backs, but is as fit as we can get him and the Moonee Valley track should suit his style of racing. We just hope the track doesn’t come up too firm, but we’re happy with him going into tomorrow’s race.”

Araldo Junior, a half-brother to the ill-fated Araldo, has yet to step foot at Moonee Valley, which can sometimes be tricky, although boasts a win and a placing for two efforts over the 2500m distance.

Having his second run over 2000m, Rhythm To Spare has probably just lost that little bit of zip he had when a younger horse, but has been gallant in defeat over ground and Saturday could see him really step up to the mark.

The Group 3 winner and Kilmore Cup winner has already amassed over half a million in prize money and will be nearing the 600,000 mark should he win on Saturday.

“He’s been running well of late and with the right run in transit he can figure in the money and give another good sight,” Moroney said.
