Midweek Duo Tackle Sale

The team will have two runners stepping out at Sale on Wednesday - both looking on target to produce improving performances – and will hope to continue the great run of winners the stable has been experiencing of late.

The four-year-old daughter of Melbourne Cup winner Shocking, Beyond Beautiful, is beginning to step up to her preferred distance when she lines up in the Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate over 1743m.

“She’s a genuine staying filly and she should fine the distance much more suitable and we are expecting a more forward showing from her,” trainer Mike Moroney said.

“Being by Shocking, out of a Waikato Cup placed mare, the further she goes the better she will be.”

The second runner on the on the card will be The Bunsta who lines up in the Rating 64 Handicap event over 1426m with Patrick Maloney employed for riding duties.

“We’ve put the blinkers back on him, which should assist greatly, and he has a solid second-up record,” Moroney said.

“His work has been strong and he is another who we are hoping to see show a much improved performance on his last outing.”

The son of Pentire holds a strong second-up record boasting a win and a minor placing from only three attempts.

While the team were unable to hit the 100 winners mark for the 2015-16 season, we are very proud of our achievements having recorded a combined 97 winners across Australia and New Zealand with prize money exceeding $3 million.

A total of seven stakes winners were recorded and we are confident of repeating and succeeding another great season with some very promising young types to be unearthed over the coming months.
