Winners Galore For Ballymore!

Ballymore's great winning run continued on the weekend with winners in New South Wales and Victoria - Golden Patch saluting at Newcastle on Saturday whilst Daniela Rosa and Barnsley provided the stable with a Sale double on Sunday.

Having only his fourth start Golden Patch was caught wide early in the 1350m maiden but Blake Spriggs showed good initiative, sending the three-year-old to the lead early where he travelled nicely.

Giving a kick at the turn, Golden Patch found plenty when challenged late. A horse with plenty of upside, he is a son of Sebring and the stakes placed Commands mare Moulin Rouge.

A filly who has always shown plenty of promise, Daniela Rosa was a convincing winner over 1425m at Sale, doing a good job at her first outing since late March.

Enjoying a nice trail along the rails, the lightly raced three-year-old hooked out into the clear in the straight and whilst she took a while to wind up she always had her rivals covered, winning by a soft half length.

"The 1425m on soft going first up was a bit of a concern," Greg Hoysted admitted, "but she was just a bit too strong for them. And she will improve on that run."

Jockey Patrick Moloney agreed... "she was the class in the race and she got a smooth run in transit. This run will certainly bring her on."

The winner of three of her six starts to date, Daniela Rosa is a daughter of in-

form stallion Dane Shadow and the Galileo mare Celestial Babe whose dam is the triple Group One winner Ballroom Babe.

Moloney was also aboard our second Sale winner Barnsley (pictured) who showed plenty of heart with his gutsy on pace victory.

Working to the lead off a tardy start - Moloney reporting that he was sitting back on the gelding when the gates opened - Barnsley was clearly headed in the run only to fight back.

In doing so the son of Showcasing (who the night before was represented by Royal Ascot Group One winner Quiet Reflection) recorded the second success of his five start career.

A career record that could read all the better if not for a wind operation required early in Barnsley's career.

But it looks to be onwards and upwards from here with the attractive chestnut

described by Hoysted as "a progressive horse."

"He has got good speed," Moloney added. "He travelled really well in the going and accelerated nicely."
