Timeless To Kick Off A Winning Weekend

It has been a good few weeks for Ballymore and we are hoping to make our way to the weekend with another winner - the lightly raced High Chaparral filly Timeless Style looking very well placed to break her maiden at Geelong on Friday.

Bred to relish a step up to 1900m, the three-year-old tired only late after working hard on pace at her most recent outing over 1400m and a slower tempo over a longer trip is bound to suit.

"There looks to be only one horse to beat in the race," Michael Moroney said, referring to the odds-on favourite Sadia.

"The question mark with the synthetic is always whether or not they will handle it but she is drawn to get a lovely run and she has been racing as though looking for this ground. She should finish right in the thick of things."

Whilst we have no runners on Saturday, Sunday is a busy day with three horses heading to the Pakenham meeting, the first of those being Maroon Creek who contests the fourth event, a 1400m maiden.

A well bred son of Zabeel (pictured) and the Group One mare Barinka, Maroon Creek is described by Moroney horse who is going to mature into "a really lovely horse."

"He is a horse we do like and it would be no surprise to see him run a forward race though he is of course bred to be at his best over longer trips."

To be ridden by Steven Arnold, Maroon Creek has drawn well in barrier one.

In the following race, a 2000m BM64 handicap, we have Paterangi jumping from barrier three for Ryan Maloney.

Impressive winning his maiden at only his second start before a game third behind classy filly Lopartega at Bendigo late last month, the regally bred son of Redoute's Choice and Zabeel's triple Group winning daughter Pravda should relish the step up from a mile.

"We were going to go to Flemington last Saturday with him but that raced looked a bit strong. He might be coming to the end of his preparation but we want to give him a try over ground before he heads to the paddock."

"He is still going well and from that good gate he should prove very competitive."

Golden Coin is the third of our Pakenham trio , due to line up in the seventh race - a 1600m BM64 contest in which he will be partnered by Steven Arnold.

Whilst he has drawn awkwardly out wide, the Tavistock three-year-old has come on well since his encouraging Australian debut fifth at Ballarat on April 26.

"His fitness levels have improved and he has been working nicely," Moroney reported, describing the bay as "a nice staying type in the making."
