Classic pair tackle Waikato Guineas

Ballymore will be represented by two runners in the Group 2 Waikato Guineas over 2000m tomorrow at Te Rapa tomorrow and both runners have pleased training partners Mike Moroney and Chad Ormsby ahead of their black-type assignment.

Ali Baba is looking to back up following a below par performance at Matamata last week, although Ormsby is adamant not to rule the son of Savabeel out yet, believing the run will have brought him on somewhat.

“He’s just taken that little bit longer to get fit and we have removed the blinkers as we think he’s getting a little shy in them around other horses.” Ormsby said.

“We know what he can do and his work has been strong, the rest is up to him.”

Ali Baba will jump from barrier two and will have the services of Sam Collett.

The second runner is the forever improving All Knitted (pictured) Up who just continues to thrive in work, and one thing is for sure, he will have no trouble seeing out the 2000m trip.

Already boasting a win over the 2000m distance, All Knitted Up has shown good staying ability to date, and while he is probably a year away from being full furnished, his performances have warranted a crack at black-type level.

“He just goes from strength to strength and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him run a cheeky race.” Ormsby said.

“Staying is his forte and there are certainly no concerns about the trip. If he can get a nice economical run he may be able to make his presence felt.”
