Habitual Offender to Warrnambool

It is a very quiet week for Ballymore Stables with just the one runner prior to the weekend - but that one horse looks a very good chance; Habitual Offender nicely placed in the Bamstone Plate at Warrnambool on Thursday.

Drawn well in barrier three for Ryan Maloney, the Guillotine five-year-old caught the eye with a bold third first up and he strips fitter for a suitable distance rise from 1400m to 1700m.

"We were really happy with his first up run," Michael Moroney, "and he looks to have improved since."

"From that good draw he should prove hard to beat."

In other Ballymore news we have welcomed back to the stable three of our summer/autumn carnival chances in Tulsa, Alaskan Rose and Yesterday's Songs - and we could not be more pleased with their condition.

"I was never completely happy with Tulsa during the spring but he has matured a lot and he looks great whilst Alaskan Rose has grown and strengthened."

Meanwhile imported galloper Vengeur Masque is also in the stable and we look forward to seeing how the son of Monsun measures up in Melbourne - though he will be given time to find his feet.

"Hopefully we can get a run or two out of him and then he can go out and have further time to acclimatize," said Moroney.
