Busy weekend ahead

On the back of two impressive winners this week - Marheta and Absolutely Maybe - we are hoping for a big weekend with runners at Caulfield, Morphettville and Cranbourne.
Our feature race runner on Saturday is the promising Golden Jaguar who contests the Listed Chairman's Stakes in Adelaide.
Stepping up to the 2014m for the first time, the well related son of Refuse To Bend will be suited by the extra distance although Michael Moroney feels that even further will be ideal.
"He is going well," he said, "but he is an out-and-out stayer. This should be a nice lead up to the SA Derby for him."
Drawn nicely in barrier six, Golden Jaguar will be partnered by Dean Holland.
Two nice runners at Caulfield also - the first of those being the classy Skiddaw Peak (pictured) who is having his second run back from a lengthy spell.
"He is a long way further forward now," said Moroney, happy with the six-year-old's progress since his first up seventh at Caulfield.
"Just whether he is sharp enough to win over 1200m with a bit of weight (58.5kg) on his back is the question but he is a quality horse who can never be taken lightly."
Rhys McLeod rides Skiddaw Peak from barrier 15 in the sixth race, the Pink Ribbon Cup.
Hopefully it will be a running double for the stable with the lightly raced, well regarded three-year-old Takeonefortheteam taking his place in the Betfair Plate over 1400m.
Having only his third start, the son of Arena won at debut late last year - put away to mature and resuming with a second to the subsequent Sandown winner Uxorious at Ballarat.
"He is one of our more promising horses," Moroney reported. "This is a reasonable field but we have always felt that he is Saturday class."
Meanwhile we also have a few runners at the provinicals. Lorne Park - won won by four lengths at Pakenham last time out - may line up at Ballarat on Friday or Cranbourne Sunday. Wherever he goes he should prove compeitive.
"He has good natural ability," Moroney said, adding that his track work since his win has been excellent.
"He has taken a while mentally but is showing signs that he is starting to put it altogether."
Debutant Freereturn lines up in the third race at Ballarat, Mark Zahra to ride. A son of Rubiton from the family of the Caulfield Cup winner Arctic Scent, he has pleased in his work, faring well in a recent jump-out.
"He is a really nice horse," Moroney said. "He will improve on whatever he shows at his first start but I think he has a bit of a future."
To Cranbourne Sunday where Mr Molokai lines up in the 1500m maiden. Putting in a game showing at debut - a somewhat unlucky third to the promising Hearts And Arrows (subsequent winner Kichai second), the son of Savabeel will appreciate the extra 200m.
"He ran on very well at his first start and he shows good promise. He may well still be a preparation away but he is a nice horse."
