She Is Amazing!

Another exciting staying prospect emerged at Avondale yesterday in the form of You Are Amazing (pictured) – an individual that is slowly beginning to vindicate her ability from the work shown at the track on gallop mornings.

A daughter of Windsor Park stallion Thewayyouare, You Are Amazing has still plenty to learn, but she illustrated just how devastating her turn of foot can be when coming from more than seven lengths off the leaders in the straight to pick them up with 1.5 lengths to spare.

“Michael (Coleman) just got her into a nice rhythm and travelling kindly throughout which is the key for her in races,” co-trainer Chad Ormsby said.

“He ran in between other horses and she appeared to handle it all very easily, which suggests she is maturing mentally and it’s great to see.”

You Are Amazing was unlucky not to see the winner’s circle in her fresh-up state, when the rider lost the whip half-way down the straight, but she has illustrated plenty of improvement for that outing and on the back of that performance there will be a few more in store.

You Are Amazing was bred, and is raced, by Wentwood Grange and exciting times lay ahead as she now attempts to make her way through the grades and earn a spot among some of the higher staying ranks over the coming months.
