A Promising Weekend

Ballymore has a busy few days ahead, runners at three Victorian meetings from Friday through to Sunday - including several of our most promising three-year-olds.

The first of which is Timeless Style who contests the third event at Bendigo on Friday, Patrick Moloney to take the ride.

"We consider her to be our second best three-year-old filly after Alaskan Rose," Michael Moroney said, adding that "she has real ability - she just needs a bit of time and a bit of practice."

Putting in an even showing over 1150m at her Sale debut - wanting to go a bit too hard - the daughter of High Chaparral will appreciate the step up to 1400m and we are hoping that addition of blinkers and ear muffs to her gear will see her run an improved race.

"She has a bit of speed for a High Chaparral but that can work against her as she just doesn't know how to switch off yet."

"This race will tell us where we go with her, we think she is spring class but if she disappoints us she will head out for a spell."

We take two runners to Echuca on Saturday, the first of which is Kiwi Dreamer who takes his placed in the opening event, a 2100m maiden.

"He is going very well," Moroney said of the Pentire four-year-old who was only just beaten at Geelong last time out.

"We expected him to improve up to the 1900m last start and he has progressed again since with the 2100m to suit him all the more. He should prove hard to beat."

Another of our three-year-olds will be unveiled later in the day, the attractive Tivaci fourth race, a 1200m maiden.

"He too is one of our better young horses - we have always had a pretty high opinion of him."

"He is a typical High Chaparral, not push button, but if he does everything right he can win."

Our weekend concludes with two runners at Ballarat, the first of which is yet another three-year-old in the shape of Gold Kroner.

Really catching the eye when charging home for a first up third at a couple of weeks ago, the son of Choisir has drawn a tricky gate - meaning that he will again have to go back.

"We are still tossing up whether to run him," Moroney said, "but if he got the right run he'd be right in the finish, it was a very good run last start and he is a really nice horse."

The honest Lord Barrington (pictured) races in the fifth at Ballarat and he too has drawn out - though that is not such a bad thing for him.

"He has no gate speed whatsoever so he is better out into the clear," Moroney said, noting that the Darci Brahma four-year-old was closer to the rails last start, held up for runs.

"He is going very well and the wet track will suit him."
