Local mid-week duo to line up Wednesday

Sororia (pictured) will be looking to build on another encouraging performance tomorrow as she lines up in the Rating 65 event over 1600m, while Casa Noble will strip fitter following his first up run at Ruakaka when he takes on maiden company in the first on the card over 2000m.

The four-year-old daughter of Iffraaj will be partnered by leading jockey Danielle Johnson, who was aboard two starts back when winning convincingly at Tauranga over the same distance.

“She was brave at her last start and I think the track was just too deep for her,” co-trainer Chad Ormsby reported.

“She still has a little bit of strengthening to do, but that will come in good time. She’s got the makings of a nice filly and the most prominent horses in the family tend to come into their own as older horses.”

The second runner to represent Ballymore will be Casa Noble who will strip much fitter from his first race day outing at Rauaka and will be ridden by in form jockey Lisa Allpress.

“His run wasn’t the worst on debut, and after having to go around the entire field, it was just too taxing and understandably he faded on his run.” Said Ormsby.

“At his home track with the services of Lisa (Allpress) should give him a good opportunity at showing his ability.”
