Join us in our Journey to the Karaka Million

There’s many hard luck stories in racing but sometimes they can work in your favour, which is what we believe allowed us to secure this filly off our final list at Karaka’s Select session inexpensively.

Paul Moroney purchased this filly’s half-brother, African Pulse, from the same sale ring and he showed oozes of ability from the word go, but unfortunately he was injured in a freak accident early on which limited his ability to perform to his full potential.

We know how desperately unlucky this filly’s half-brother was not to have reached the levels he deserved, although in saying that he was still able to record five wins and earn over A$265,000 in prize money.

So when this clean, strong, precocious, good-bodied Darci Brahma filly sauntered out of the Trelawny Stud draft, we didn’t need much convincing to place her on our shopping list, with a suspicion as well that we might get her for “unders” given our inside knowledge against others valuing her page.

Further adding to our decision was that fact this filly has many attributes, physical features and qualities that African Pulse had - a real meant to be moment! We got one part of the equation right, securing her for a price we know investors would relish, and we are very confident, on our judgment, that her brother’s class will shine through on the racetrack.

This filly’s dam has produced three individuals that have raced and all three are winners - not many dams can produce a 100% winning record - and she hails from a family with highly credentialed gallopers including Gr.1 winner Zagalia, Gr.2 winner Silk Blossom, Gr.3 winner Grovernor Brown and Gr.3 winner Lomond Blossom.

THE DARCI BRAHMA X BUNYAH FILLY IS THE RIGHT CHOICE BECAUSE:

- Her sire, Darci Brahma, is one of the leading stallions in New Zealand and boasts one of the highest runner to winner ratios in Australasia i.e. 69.5% of his progeny that make it to the track are WINNERS! while 7.2% of his runners are STAKESWINNERS! - Huge percentages!

- Darci Brahma is the sire of FIVE individual stakes winning two-year-old’s to date, including Gr.1 winning juvenile RECITE, and THREE of these stakes winning 2YO’s are fillies - just like this girl!

- She is currently broken in and being prepared for NZ’s richest race, the Karaka Million, in January 2016.

BALLYMORE STABLES IS THE RIGHT STABLE BECAUSE:

- Michael Moroney is one of the most successful trainers in Australasia boasting 48 individual Group 1 winners to his name, over 200 Group and Listed winners, over 2000 winners and accumulated over 30 million in prize money.

- Co-trainer Chad Ormsby is one of the most skilled horseman in the country and reports exactly how your horse is feeling from the hot seat. Chad has also celebrated good success during his short time in training which includes Gr.2 winner GRAPHIC, Gr.3 winner SURPASS, Listed winner MAE JINX and Gr.1 placed LE CHOIX.

The team at Ballymore ensure your racing experience is a close and personal one by providing many forms of communication including video, audio, verbal and written reports.
