Ballymore Classic Syndicate

With the New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Yearling Sales Series upon us, we would like to offer an exciting proposition to be involved in one of Australasia’s leading stables and race two classic prospects to target the Derby and the Oaks.

Ballymore Stables has celebrated decades of classic success with thoroughbreds that have derived from the Karaka Sale ring and the team will be active again as we search for our next three-year-old stars.

Paul Moroney, Ballymore’s appointed bloodstock consultant, has an incredible reputation that is matched by very few around the globe when it comes to selecting Group 1 Classic winners from all price ranges as yearlings.

The purchaser of 33 individual Group 1 winners, and winners of 49 Group 1 races, Paul’s astute assessment of young thoroughbreds has seen him select 12 individual Classic winning racehorses – six of them going on to win Derbies, three to win Oaks classics and three to win Guineas events.

Top flight racehorses such as Brazilian Pulse (Group 1 VRC Oaks winner), Xcellent (Group 1 NZ Derby winner), Second Coming (Group 1 VRC Derby winner), Clean Sweep (Group 1 2000 Guineas winner), Eskimo Queen, (Group 1 Queensland Oaks winner), Altered Image (Group 1 Levin Classic winner), Shizu (Group 1 VATC Thousand Guineas winner) and Monaco Consul (Group 1 VRC Derby) all have been knocked down to Paul Moroney Bloodstock in the sale ring.

All Classic winners mentioned above were purchased from New Zealand Bloodstock sales and all were successful under Ballymore Stables.

Brother, and champion trainer, Michael Moroney boasts an astonishing 48 individual Group 1 winners to date, in both New Zealand and Australia, and of those has celebrated 33 individual Group 1 winners in combination with Paul’s purchases.

Over the past 34 years, Michael has recorded over 200 Group and Listed winners, and over 2,000 winners to record over 30million in prizemoney.
Michael has trained winners of every classic category in New Zealand and Australia – Derby, Oaks, Guineas and Classics – a record that is unmatched by any trainer in New Zealand or Australia.

Since joining Michael as Resident Trainer of the New Zealand stable, Chad Orms-by is already living up to expectations and continuing the success of the stable having prepared Group 2 Wellington Cup winner Graphic and Group 3 Waikato Times Cup winner Surpass, as well as stakes winners/performers Savvy Dancer, Mae Jinx, Le Choix, Spitfire Lady and Kidwelly, in his first few years of joining the stable.

The newly formed partnership has also been knocking on the door with classic success after preparing horses that have raced very well in several Derby, Oaks and Guineas and will again try their hand this coming season with the very promising Margin Trader.

The team is already working hard in order to identify classic aspirants from the Karaka Yearling Sales inspecting every entry of the series.

Ballymore removes the element of luck from the equation, and it is a serious opportunity for owners to get involved with a stable that already has the writing on the wall.

A 10% share in the Ballymore Classic Syndicate will be $14,000 + GST to secure a 5% share in each of the two selected yearlings (one filly and one colt), and will cover all costs right up until 31 July, 2015. Please note the buy in price may be subject to change depending on the purchase price cost (not higher than the advertised amount).

Contact Nick Fairweather on 0272 929 153 or nick@ballymorestables.co.nz to register your interest today and join the team where the dream of celebrating classic success becomes reality.

If you confirm your interest by Wednesday, February 4 you will receive one month's free training and a Ballymore jacket and cap.
