Ballymore specifically targeted the Gold Coast Magic Millions sale this year in its search for top class prospective racehorses for the stable and, more importantly, to provide clients with a wider cross section of young, equine athletes to choose from. Magic Millions has become a proven source of high class 2yos and our very first purchase, this quality Lookin At Lucky colt, had early-comer and speed written all over him.

He's from the first crop of a top class North American racehorse who was champion colt both at 2 and 3, winning five times as a juvenile including the Del Mar and Hollywood Futurities (both G1) before adding another three G1 wins the following year, among them the famous Preakness Stakes.

Lookin At Lucky hails from the successful Raise A Native sire-line and we felt this colt had thrown considerably to that lineage on type, athletic and balanced with plenty of natural muscle. No doubt some of his strength also comes from the dam's side, already producing a 2yo winning half brother close to stakes-class last season. His second dam, the precocious Dancer's Choice (by Bletchingly), was a G3 winner at 2 and 2nd in the Blue Diamond of her year and she's produced two stakes winners up to 1200m while her dam Cheeky Trot was a brilliant youngster as well in Western Australia, winning that state's juvenile championship, the Karrakatta Plate.

We very much like the Raise A Native x Star Kingdom (Bletchingly, by Biscay, by Star Kingdom) cross this colt represents and consider him one of the best Magic Millions Classic and Golden Slipper types we have bought.
